Science City’s Tide Pool Café is a great place to relax while you’re visiting the science centre or anytime during our regular business hours. Beverages and light snacks are available at a minimal cost and visitors can watch an interesting selection of educational programs on the 21' projection screen in the café. The Café has its own separate entrance so patrons do not necessarily have to pass through the admissions gate to enter the Café.

The Tide Pool Café accommodates up to 80 people within a garden setting that visitors and patrons find hard to resist. A large pond and waterfall, comfortable seating and adjustable lighting make the Café a great place to spend an afternoon with friends or family.

The Café is also available for birthday parties, business meetings, training and workshop events as well as family gatherings, wedding and baby showers. Kitchen facilities are on site and patrons can arrange their own catering or work with the Science Centre staff for catering, liquor licenses, etc.

The Café also hosts state-of-the-art specialized projection, multi-media and sound equipment that is easily available to patrons using the venue for their event.

1. All events must be booked at least two weeks in advance.
2. A $50 rental and maintenance fee is required at the time of booking. Your rental and maintenance fee is refundable with a 7 day notice of cancellation.
3. The fee is $10 per child. We recommend two supervising adults for every 10 children. Any additional adults (over the ratio) will be charged $6 each.
4. Party decorations will be provided by Science City; however, if you wish to decorate the café with your own decorations, you will be responsible for the set-up and take-down of such items.
5. Your café rental package includes:
• Unlimited use of the café for the duration of your event
• A guided tour of the science centre for you and your guests
• A Science City staff member for assistance at all times
• Event decorations and clean up
• Exploration through the science centre
